Sorakuen began its life as the private residence of the Kodera family (a member of the family was a former mayor of Kobe during the Meiji era) and is home to several important cultural properties.
The expansive garden is one of Kobe's most famous scenic spots, with beautiful sights that change with the seasons and delight all visitors.

Located inside Sorakuen Garden, Sorakuen Hall, which has been the "guest house of Kobe" for more than half a century, has been remodeled and reopened as THE SORAKUEN, and the restaurant Sorakuen was opened on the second floor overlooking the beautiful garden.
Here, you can enjoy gourmet cuisine in the midst of an extraordinary world full of rich nature spanning an area of 6,000 tsubo, improbably located just a stone's throw from the heart of the city.

What we can do because we are a reservation-only private restaurant with a limited numbre of customers

Here at Soraku, we offer private rooms in historic spaces, such as the office of the former mayor of Kobe, with their original refined atmospheres intact.
Our professional staff work together to provide the best possible hospitality in accordance with the individual requests of guests who have placed reservations in advance.
We will assist you in making your meals with family and friends, and for events such as receptions for your loved ones, a richer experience.

*Please ensure that you place a reservation when dining with us.
*All prices include consumption tax and service charges.
*We reserve the right to refuse reservations even during the reservation period if we are fully reserved.
*We accept payment by credit card. (VISA and MASTER are accepted)
*A cancellation fee of 50% of the price of the reserved course will be applicable for cancellations on the day prior to the date of the reservation.
*A cancellation fee of 100% of the price of the reserved course will be applicable for cancellations on the day of the reservation.
